To celebrate Ellsworth’s rich apple history, Heart of Ellsworth is highlighting the revival of two traditional foods – hard cider, and artisanal cheese. The evening will begin with a short history of heirloom apples in Downeast Maine by local Historian, Todd Little-Siebold. With the generous support of this years sponsors Bangor Savings Bank John Edwards Rooster Brother · The Store for Cooks and Fogtown Brewing Company the focus of the festival will be a guided tasting of cider and cheese lead by Max Treitler, owner of Blue Hill Wine Shop. Each of the five local hard cider makers and four artisan cheesemakers from around the state will be on hand to talk about their craft, share sips of hard cider and bites of artisanal cheese.
